In the latest of our series of podcasts, we spoke to Chris Hill, CEO of Hargreaves Lansdown and discussed the structural growth opportunity in the UK Wealth industry. Described as being both ‘broad and growing’ the opportunity also requires clients to take more responsibly for saving and investing. We discussed the investment that the company has made in the breath of its offering and client service but also in its digital capabilities, allowing the company to attract and retain clients. We also discussed its ability to attract younger client cohorts, how their behaviours develop over time and the lifetime value of client relationships. We touch on the competitive environment in the UK, the value of advice and the continued trend towards consolidation. Ultimately the sector is attractive because of the positive long-term structural opportunity in which the company remains well positioned.
